This toy UFO can not, by itself, go side to side, but that doesn't matter as the currents within in the house and outside help it wander around. My son seems to have found a sweet spot on the remote whre he can get it to move sideways. Even without the side to side capability the UFO is Fun. The lights are great, it can zoom up and drop with speed. Our children spent an hour (and begged for more)trying to 'catch' the ufo...the two year old actually was the one who plucked it out of the air...the ufo survived a lot of bumps and bruises and survived. Dad also had the children be the landing pad or take off point which fascinated the children as much as when our birds landed on them.
Our next family outing will include our UFO, a helicopter and another UFO outdoors on a summers night with the lightening bugs. The lights definetly make this toy more fun than the more controllablle heleicopter, I think. It's Tops.
